Lots going on here in SF this weekend. Yesterday was Chinese New Year's and the celebration here has been dubbed the largest one outside of Hong Kong. Doesn't look like the rain kept anyone way. Today is the peace rally.
So far, it's been really nice to be back. I stepped off the plane on Friday and almost screamed with delight. Immediately, I saw things and places that I remember when I lived here... like Chevy's, In N Out, Round Table Pizza, Carl's Jr, Safeway, just to name a few. I hopped in my rental car (they gave me the satellite radio upgrade for free) and drove to the East Bay to see my old stomping grounds. The first thing I did was check my storage space to see if my things were still there. Yep. I was kind of worried cause my friend told me that it looked like someone tried to jimmy with the lock. Well, they did. I put my key in and it broke! I had to get the manager to cut the lock off. Bunch of savages in this town.
Then I headed in to San Francisco. I'm staying in Japantown which is awesome. Yesterday we spent the day in Sausalito and Marin and it was beautiful. The weather has been dreary, but that won't ruin this trip. Today, however, is sunny so I'm sure there will be plenty of picture taking.
It's good to be back. More later... |
